Using tea and coffee to stay on track

At one point in my life I had ballooned up to 96 kilos. At 5 ft 6 inches this was not obese but I was a very self-conscious 24 year old at college.
I started myself on regular running and daily weightlifting sessions (15-20 mins excluding warm ups)and slimmed down to 74 kilos in a matter of 6 months. but I was still raking in soda, fried stuff, candies and biscuits. especially during the night. I stayed at 74 kilos for close to an year. after that I made a serious commitment, eliminated simple carbs from my diet and finally dieted down to a muscular 67 kilos.
Now what worked for me (to stop the cravings) was drinking a lot of black/green tea and coffee. I started substituting tea/coffee for my old favorites and soon enough got addicted to coffee. later on I had to cut back on tea/coffee due to jitters and stress but I must say even now I reach for a steaming cup to kill cravings now and then. it has worked out pretty well for me.
